After meeting online, an unnamed trans woman’s stay with a Louisiana couple turned violent as she was beaten, forced to perform sex acts, and complete household chores against her will.

Après avoir été dépouillée de ses biens, elle a été battue, électrocutée, mutilée, enchaînée, marqué de leurs initiales, proposée sur des sites comme esclaves, ou contrainte à des tâches pénibles et ménagères… pendant près de deux ans. Elle ne doit sa survie qu’à la force de son mental. Profitant d’une inattention de quelques instants, la jeune a réussi à s’enfuir avec la voiture de la famille.
Actuellement en détention préventive, ce sont les pompiers qui lui ont retiré les chaînes, pour qu’elle puisse se faire soigner.
“Un long séjour de calvaire” selon les enquêteurs, qui précisent dans leur rapport que la jeune femme aurait également été affamée et assoiffée, contrainte d’ingérer jusque sa propre urine.
Les suspects, David Rodriguez Jr et Christina Marie Harper, 37 et 39 ans, ainsi que leur complice, Ambre Tubbs Lomas, 39 ans, se sont rendus à la police. Parmi d’autres infractions, ils sont accusés d’enlèvement et trafic d’être humain, avec voies de fait aggravées pour la dernière.
Deux adolescents âgés de 15 et 16 ans, qui vivaient également dans la maison, ont été pris en charge par l’Office national des services de protection de l’enfance de la Louisiane.
Les organisations Louisiana Trans Advocates et Equality Louisiana se disent “attristées” devant les faits : “Elle a été systématiquement maltraitée, agressée et déshumanisée par ses ravisseurs pendant des mois. Grâce à sa force remarquable, et sans perdre espoir, elle a lutté pour survivre et réussi à s’échapper. Bien que l’application des lois ne soit pas souvent l’alliée des femmes transgenres, heureusement qu’elle a eu le courage d’y recourir afin de faire en sorte que ses ravisseurs ne puissent plus récidiver”.
Une quinzaine d’armes ont été saisies, dont un pistolet paralysant… “Difficile à croire au premier abord,” a expliqué l’adjoint du chef de la police, Shelby Borders, “mais c’est une des affaires les plus sordides à laquelle j’ai été confrontée”.

>> Three Louisiana residents have been arrested after allegedly holding a transgender woman captive for months, treating her as their “slave,” The News Star reports.
On Wednesday, 37-year-old David Rodriguez, Jr., along with Christina Marie Harper and Ambre Tubbs Lomas, both 39, were arrested on charges ranging from human trafficking to battery.
The Natchitoches Parish Sherriff’s Office became aware of the woman’s plight after receiving a report from a local resident who claimed to have come in contact with the victim following her escape from the residence of Rodriguez and Harper.
The woman, an out-of-state resident, moved in with Rodriguez and Harper voluntarily after meeting the two online. Soon after, Rodriguez allegedly coerced the victim into signing over her personal cash and possessions. Investigators report that Rodriguez tattooed the victim, and registered her as a “slave” on a website.
During her stay with the couple, police report the victim was forced to complete household chores and perform sexual acts. Additionally, she was allegedly beaten, shocked with a stun gun, and had initials carved into her skin. Investigators say she was fed once daily, and forced to drink from a limited supply of water and urine. Lomas, who did not live with Rodriguez and Harper, would regularly partake in the administration and enforcement of these degrading acts.
Two teenage children were removed from the home and placed with the Louisiana Office of Child Protective Services. Within the home, police uncovered upwards of 15 firearms.
Rodriguez and Harper are being held on $635,000 bond, and face human trafficking, aggravated battery, and kidnapping and false imprisonment charges.
Lomas currently faces battery and kidnapping charges, and has a bond set at $525,000.
Finally, the victim stole the family’s car, drove to Natchitoches, and approached the police officer.
“Just real frantic, and a lot of fast talk,” Assistant Police Chief Shelby Borders said of the encounter. “And it was just kind of hard to believe at first.”

She was systematically abused, assaulted and dehumanized by her captors for months. Through her remarkable strength and resilient hope, she fought to survive and successfully escaped captivity. Though law enforcement are often not allies to transgender women, she was courageous enough to work with them in order to prevent her captors from doing this to anyone else in the future.
