Annoncer à sa famille que l’on est homosexuel(le), bisexuel(le) ou transgenre peut être une étape très difficile dans la vie d’un adolescent, surtout lorsque la réaction à cette annonce est incertaine.
Dans cette vidéo très touchante, un adolescent américain, appelé “Ryan” dans les commentaires de sa vidéo Youtube, a filmé en secret l’annonce de son homosexualité à sa mère.
Comme le déclare le jeune homme dans la description de sa vidéo, “j’ai fait cette vidéo parce que j’en ai beaucoup regardé ces dernières années. J’ai trouvé que ces vidéos, montrant des “coming out” et filmées en secret, étaient très utiles”, avant d’ajouter, “je trouve qu’il n’y a pas beaucoup de vidéos comme celles-ci, c’est pourquoi j’ai décidé de créer ma propre vidéo afin d’aider d’autres personnes… Ma mère a réagi de manière incroyable et j’espère que vous vivrez tous une expérience similaire à la mienne”.
Une vidéo de ce type avait été postée en février mettant en scène le “coming out” d’un homosexuel mormon qui a filmé la réaction de ses proches à son annonce.

Coming out of the closet to family members can be one of the most difficult and terrifying things a lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) teenager can go through — especially when you’re not sure what the reaction will be.
In this emotional and heartwarming video, a teenage boy, referred to as “Ryan” in the YouTube comments, secretly records his decision to come out as gay to his mother.
“I made this video because when I was contemplating coming out for the last year, I found other similar videos of people coming out to family members on a hidden camera really helpful,” Ryan notes in the video description. “I noticed that there weren’t very many of these videos, so I wanted to create my own to help other people in the same way… My mom reacted in an amazing way, and I really hope that all of you have a similar experience.”
