Richard Kennedy, originaire de Liverpool, a publié jeudi dernier sur son profil facebook une photo de son visage ensanglanté et meurtri, après avoir été sauvagement attaqué, sans aucune provocation, par un groupe d’homophobes.
Malgré le cauchemar qu’il a vécu, le jeune homme a détaillé son agression et lancer un appel à témoin :
“Je me suis fait violemment agressé la nuit dernière par un groupe de cons à cause de ma sexualité. Ils m’ont littéralement piétiné le visage, au point que mes dents se sont enfoncées dans mes gencives. Je suis totalement abattu et je n’ose plus du tout me montrer en public. Félicitations donc à ses cons : je me sens et je ressemble désormais à une vraie merde. J’espère que vous êtes satisfaits.”
Dans un autre message, Richard Kennedy a ajouter :
“Quatre de mes dents ont disparu. Elles ne sont pas tombées mais se sont complétement enfoncées dans mes gencives, dans ma joue, et une autre sur le côté droit, en bas de mon nez. Mon visage est encore enflé mais c’était bien pire hier. Mes deux genoux sont gravement atteints, et j’ai beaucoup de mal à me déplacer. Et je marche désormais à 4 comprimés par jour pour la douleur et l’infection et il est fort probable que je subisse une intervention chirurgicale pour essayer de corriger les dommages.
Et tout ceci pour quel motif ? Ma putain de sexualité qui ne concerne pourtant personne d’autre que moi-même et celle ou celui dont je vais tomber amoureux. La vie sexuelle c’est privé…
Il va sans dire que c’est absolument honteux d’attaquer violemment quelqu’un de cette façon pour ce qu’il est. Ma confiance a disparu. J’ai honte d’être vu maintenant en public, et c’est pour cette seule raison que j’ai décidé de publier ma photo, pour que vous puissiez réaliser à quoi ressemble l’homophobie, et pourquoi c’est un fléau, et pourquoi c’est tout simplement dégueulasse que ça puisse encore exister à notre époque !
La société doit réagir, les gens sont ce qu’ils sont, les gens sont différents, homosexuels, hétérosexuels, bisexuels, transsexuels, noir, blanc, asiatique, gros, maigre, petit ou grand… peu importe qui nous sommes ou à quoi nous pouvons ressembler, nous sommes des êtres humains . Il y a plus à des gens de leur préférence sexuelle et à quoi ils ressemblent. On ne peut pas résumer quelqu’un à son orientation sexuelle ou ce à quoi il peut ressembler.
Ce n’est sans doute encore qu’une nouvelle agression homophobe, comme il en arrive tous les jours malheureusement, mais ça doit cesser, c’est terrible, c’est dégoûtant et utiliser l’argument de nos préférences sexuelles comme motif pour perpétrer la violence, les abus et l’intimidation est totalement inhumain. C’est ça que d’être de contre nature justement.”
Suite à cette publication, rapidement relayée sur le net, la Police a lancé un appel à témoins, pour obtenir plus d’informations sur l’incident. Une enquête est depuis en cours, le jeune homme a été de nouveau auditionné, et un porte-parole a d’ailleurs déclaré que l’agression avait été particulièrement sauvage, apparemment non provoquée, et qu’elle serait probablement traitée comme un crime de haine : ” Nous traitons toutes les affaires de cette nature avec beaucoup de sérieux. “

Kennedy, who lives in Liverpool, England, wrote several Facebook messages detailing his assault:
I got violently assaulted last night by a group of cunts, all because of my sexuality, covered in blood and literally stomped on my face causing my teeth to go into my gums.
I’m 100% done and utterly embarrassed to be in public, congratulations to the cunts who did this to me you succeed in making someone feel and look like shit and i hope you’re fucking happy.
He shared the following photo and message:
Here is my face after a homophobic attack, 4 of my teeth are gone, not fallen out but deep inside my gums and cheek, one is sitting under my cheek inside my gum on the right side bottom of my nose. My face is swollen and it was worse yesterday, both my knees are badly injured and I struggle to walk and my hole face is constantly throbbing and i’m now on 4 tablets a day for pain and infection and may require surgery to sort the damage.
All of this and what was their motive? because of my fucking sexuality. something that doesn’t concern ANYONE else minus me and the person I fall for, either man or woman. A sex life is private and has nothing to do with no one, needless to say it’s absolutely disgraceful to violently attack someone because of who they are. My confidence has gone, im utterly embarrassed to be seen in public, the only reason I am putting this picture up is because I want you to see me as an example. An example why homophobia is wrong and it’s disgusting that it’s still around in 2014. Society needs to get a grip, people are who they are, people are different, people are gay, straight, bi, transexual, black, white, asian, fat, skinny, small and tall but regardless of who they are and what they look like they are still human. There is more to people than their sexual preference and what they look like.
This is just another homophobic attack that happens every day, but it needs to stop, this is wrong, this is disgusting and using sexual preference as a motive to be violent and abusive is utter inhumane.
Police are appealing for information into the incident.
A police spokesperson said: ‘This was a nasty and seemingly unprovoked assault and we are investigating the possibility that this was a homophobic hate crime.
‘We treat all incidents of this nature very seriously and a further statement is currently being obtained from the victim.’
An investigation is underway and police are appealing to anybody that witnessed the assault to contact them on 101 quoting log reference 0844.
