Jamal Nouhi est conseiller à la commune de Breda dans le Brabant-Septentrional, au sud des Pays-Bas, et, membre du parti travailliste néerlandais (Partij van de Arbeid, abrégé PvdA).
Dans une déclaration publiée sur le site de la communauté marocaine aux Pays-Bas, Bladna.nl, le responsable politique n’a pas hésité à s’attaquer à l’organisation Human Rights Watch, qui vient de condamner le Maroc, pour avoir poursuivi en justice, des jeunes hommes pour homosexualité :
‘‘Que dirait l’Europe si l’on exigeait d’elle de respecter les droits des pédophiles, ou que l’on oblige un pays européen de respecter des lois en contradiction avec ses valeurs, comme les lois islamiques par exemple, qu’elle réaction auront-ils ??’’
Droits des LGBT et pédophilie ? Propos immédiatement “réprimandés” par son parti qui considère la comparaison comme une grave dérive, d’autant plus que le conseiller explique avoir exprimé ses opinions à titre personnel, loin de toute considération partisane :
‘‘Le statut de membre du parti dont jouit Jamal Nouhi, l’astreint à des obligations de retenue et que ce genre de déclarations finit par éclabousser le parti.’’
Le PvdA a indiqué ouvrir une enquête : Jamal Nouhi risque l’exclusion. Une démission peut-être alors ? Ce serait plus digne.
Parce que si ses convictions portent à créer du conflit dans la société, ses convictions ne sont pas ajustées à la société. Très peu convainquant pour un responsable politique.
>> A city councillor in Breda has been kicked out of his own party’s faction there after making statements comparing the rights of homosexuals to the rights of pedophiles. Labour party (PvdA) member Jamal Nouhi made the comments when suggesting that the foundation Human Rights Watch should stop lobbying for gay rights in Morocco, calling it a religious issue.
He said it would be like another foundation lobbying in favour of pedophiles in the Netherlands.
“PvdA Breda notes that Nouhi’s statements are diametrically opposed to the policies supported by the PvdA,” the party said in a statement. “Therefore, Mr. Nouhi cannot be part of the faction.”
The decision was made after local party chairman Henk van der Velde sat down with Nouhi to discuss the comments.
They then referred the matter to the national party with the recommendation that Nouhi be kicked out of the organisation.
Nouhi defended his statements, saying they were meant to shock people into the realisation that Human Rights Watch interferes with “our state religion”, with a morally superior attitude towards countries they think are “backwards,” according to the Telegraaf newspaper.
